THE WORK OF
DAVE BENNETT SILVERY
Journalist, Photographer, Sportsperson

Dave is a journalist, a photographer and a sportsperson who is currently pursuing his masters in journalism at the University of Roehampton in London.
Dave’s interest in journalism began during his high school days. His interest enhanced further in 2014 when he saw media play a crucial role in the elections of the country. He completed his undergraduate degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from St. Joseph’s degree and PG college in Hyderabad, India. During his course he interned at The New Indian Express as a Trainee Features reporter. While being the president of Cinevolution, a cultural fest for the department, Dave was the founder of the photography club apart from being the class representative for three years.
After graduation, Dave joined The Pioneer newspaper, where he worked as a photojournalist for three months. His role allowed him to travel around the city, capture scenes that stood out and were out of the ordinary, write about it and publish it in the daily newspaper. After that short stint, he took up reporting and worked as a crime reporter for the same paper for two years. His role gave him an opportunity to begin working and reporting on crime scenes in and around the city along with law enforcement officials.
Dave started playing basketball and field hockey in addition to pursuing journalism, and over the past seven and twelve years, he has competed on behalf of his club, school, district, and state in a variety of contests. His primary sport has been basketball, where he had the chance to teach and serve as captain. At the moment, Dave is a member of the University of Roehampton's men's squad in London.

In this photo, Dave is seen reading The New Indian Express newspaper, a year before he interned with them!
